• Summary of the project

    The project focuses on the barriers encountered by women with disabilities which prevent them from participating in society to participate in public discourse and shape it Women and girls with disabilities have to influence the public discourse about what is disability; there is need to understand girls’ with disabilities perception, aspirations, and fight against social isolation and exclusion from public sectors. At the same time, duty bearers and other stakeholders in the community have a key role to play. The UN in Zimbabwe aims to engage around critical issues such as the transformation of cultural norms, the design and delivery of services, including among others SRH, and the protection of women and girls with disabilities from GBV and harmful practices.
